Plateau & Mile End Flooring Specialists — Heritage Hardwood & Staircases

The Plateau-Mont-Royal and Mile End are defined by their iconic exterior spiral staircases, narrow three-storey triplexes and turn-of-the-century row homes built on tight lots with original pine and birch flooring. These heritage interiors demand a careful touch: many floors carry a century of patina worth preserving, while the stacked, occupied units make dust control and scheduling critical. Equipment access is often limited to narrow front stairwells, and any work must respect the borough's heritage preservation guidelines for contributing buildings.

We specialize in dustless heritage refinishing that protects the character of Plateau floors while keeping neighbouring units livable — HEPA-contained sanding, period-appropriate stains and breathable water-based finishes. We also restore the wooden treads of interior and exterior staircases that define these homes, matching stain to existing floors so the entry, stair and main level read as one continuous heritage surface.
